Fire Alarm Tech Support

Welcome to Our Fire Alarm Tech Support

We will start with Basics. If your system is not mandated to be monitored, we can discard the telephone lines trouble. Depending on your Fire Alarm System, your trouble alert can be silenced by the Silence button on the panel or Keypad and then (in some systems) pressing enter. At the keypads usually will display a request for a code, most systems have a default code 1111 or 11111 or 1234. This Will silence the trouble buzzer. Now you must press "Display Trouble", in some cases this must be follow by the enter key and also a default code. Most Fire Alarms will tell you how to view the troubles. Instructions are usually in the front of the cabinet. or they have plain english display window. With this information please call us Right away at (407)380-0563 or E-Mail us at capitalarm@bellsouth.net

Telephone line troubles

If the trouble display indicates that there is a telephone line 1 or 2 trouble you should know this:

It is mandated by law that a monitored Fire Alarm Panel must have 2 telephone lines. One Dedicated (means only for the Fire Alarm) and a back up line (this line could be shared with the premises(common LAN line or a fax line) Both lines must have DIFFERENT LONG DISTANCE CARRIERS. Usually the display will show NO line 1 or 2.  You can always check the line by plugging a standard telephone set to the telephone interface jack on the side of the FACP( Fire Alarm Control Panel).

IF THERE IS TELEPHONE LINES BUT THE FIRE ALARM DOES NOT TRANSMIT.

There are two reasons for the alarm not being able to transmit. The First is the communicator has failed due to a lightning storm or power surge. Then it must be  replaced or  you recently switch your phone service to a digital provider like VONAGE or BRIGHTHOUSE. By  swithching your service to one of this carriers you have done something inadvertly:  MOST ALARM PANELS  BURGLAR OR FIRE, CAN NOT SUPPORT THE DIGITAL VOICE OR DATA EXCHANGE FROM THOSE CARRIERS at this time

SOLUTION: get a residential lan line from Bellsouth or Sprint or Bell Atlantic any main local carrier the installs analog service or GET THE NEW GSM RADIO FOR FIRE. IN CASE OF A LIGHTNING STRIKE : IF PANEL CAN NOT BE RESET, DISCONNECT THE BATTERIES AND LOCATE THE POWER BREAKER AND TURN IT OFF! .

IN ANY OF THIS CASES PLEASE CONTACT US AT (407)380-0563 or email us at  capitalarm@bellsouth.net
